29th Annual Gloucester TWP Scholarship Run
The 29th Annual Gloucester Township Scholarship Run is a community athletic event held at the Gloucester Township Municipal Complex in Blackwood, New Jersey. The event serves as a fundraiser to provide college scholarships for high school students residing within the township. Participants can choose between two distinct courses held on paved surfaces.
The event features the following distances:
- 5K
- 1 Mile
The 5K course begins on Chews Landing Road, approximately 200 yards from the Senior Center. The route loops through police-patrolled streets and concludes in the Municipal Complex parking lot. The 1 Mile event consists of two loops around the Veteran's Park track, including two smaller internal loops.
The event is accessible to a wide range of participants, including those with strollers, who are asked to start at the rear of the pack. Indoor restroom facilities are available for participants within the Municipal Complex. The first 100 registered participants are guaranteed a race shirt. A food spread is provided for runners and walkers following the races.
Awards are presented to the first overall male and female finishers, the first Gloucester Township resident to finish, and the first parent and child duo. Medals are also awarded to the top three male and female finishers in various age categories, ranging from 12 and under to 70 and over.
