Gloucester Mountain Man TriChallenge
The Gloucester Mountain Man TriChallenge is a multisport event located in New South Wales. Established in 1991, it is one of the oldest races of its kind in Australia. The event features a combination of mountain biking, paddling, and trail running through the natural landscapes of Gloucester and the Barrington River area. Participants can enter as solo racers or as part of a team.
The course consists of three distinct legs:
- 22 km mountain bike ride through mountain roads, 4WD tracks, creek beds, and rainforest.
- 11 km kayak paddle along the Barrington River.
- 9 km trail run, with the majority of the route occurring off-road before finishing in Gloucester.
The mountain bike segment utilizes cattle tracks and open country, while the paddle leg takes place on moving water. The event is supported by a large network of local community volunteers, including emergency services and local organizations. Registration typically includes a pre-race dinner held the day before the competition. The race environment includes views of the Barrington Tops National Parks and local state forests.
This multisport challenge is managed by Fully Rad Adventures and is scheduled to take place in September, coinciding with the spring season.
