Gloucester Half Marathon and 10k
The Gloucester Half Marathon and 10k take place in the historic city of Gloucester, with the start and finish lines located at Gloucester Park. The event is hosted by the Canal and River Trust and supports Sue Ryder as the official charity partner. Participants can choose between two main distances:
- Half Marathon: Featuring 70m of elevation.
- 10 km: Featuring 39m of elevation.
The course is designed to showcase local landmarks, beginning with a route through pedestrianised city centre streets and passing Gloucester Cathedral. The path then transitions to a closed road circuit around Gloucester and Quedgeley before following the Gloucester and Sharpness Canal Path. The terrain consists of a mixture of road and gravel surfaces.
The event village provides various food and drink options for participants and spectators. Each kilometre of the course is marked with distance flags, and marshals are positioned throughout the route to provide guidance. Every participant receives chip-timed results, a themed medal, post-race snacks, and access to free official race photos. Sustainability is a primary focus for the organizers, who offer optional event merchandise to reduce waste and lower entry costs for those who do not require a t-shirt.
