About the race
The Glacier Trailrun Alpine Race takes place in Gurgl in the Ötztal section of the Alps from 22 to 25 July 2027. The event centers on trail running at high altitude, with routes routed between 2,000 and 3,000 metres and extensive views of the Ötztal glacier areas.
Races include a short mountain run and several longer trail distances that run on technically demanding alpine trails. Course profiles list both distance and ascent figures, for example the longest race covers about 61.1 km with approximately 3,600 m of elevation gain. The village centre of Obergurgl serves as the event start area.

- Top Mountain Run: 6.3 km, 750 m
- Gletscher Trail 14K: 14 km, 800 m
- Gletscher Trail 26K: 25.8 km, 1,900 m
- Gletscher Trail 42K: 42.5 km, 2,800 m
- Gletscher Trail 62K: 61.1 km, 3,600 m
- WIDI Trailrun: 200/400/600/1,500 m
Registration opens on 01.12.2026. The detailed program and final course adjustments are still being prepared. Prizes are awarded to top finishers and class winners, and the event applies measures for sustainability such as regional food at aid stations, reusable cups at the finish, and encouragement of public transport.
