About the race
Le Generali Genève Marathon is an annual running event organised in Geneva with multiple race formats over a weekend in May. The event includes a full marathon of 42.195 km that starts on Chemin Frank Thomas in Cologny and finishes on the Pont du Mont-Blanc. The marathon course is a single loop combining city and surrounding countryside with views of Lake Geneva, the Jet d’Eau and Alpine summits. A relay version covers the same 42.195 km course for teams of 4 to 6 runners.
Additional races take place the day before along similar lakeside and rural sections, including shorter timed distances and youth events. The programme lists the following distances and formats:
- Marathon : 42.195 km, start Chemin Frank Thomas, finish Pont du Mont-Blanc
- Marathon Relais by Core Lean : 42.195 km in teams of 4 to 6
- Semi-Marathon : 21.097 km, same start and finish
- Semi Fauteuil de Course : 21.097 km for racing chairs
- 10 km : evening race along the lake, finish Quai Gustave-Ador
- 10 km Marche & Nordic Walking : walking formats on the 10 km route
- 5 km by Always : 5 km event, minimum age 14
- Courses Juniors : five races from 1 km to 3 km for ages 3 to 13
