Geist Waterfront Triathlon
The Geist Waterfront Triathlon takes place at Geist Waterfront Park in Fishers, Indiana. This multi-sport event features a variety of race formats including triathlons, duathlons, and aquabike competitions. The event is hosted at a new park facility and utilizes the surrounding reservoir and local roads for the course.
Participants can choose from several event types and distances:
- Sprint Triathlon: A 500-yard swim with a beach start, a 12.5-mile bike, and a 3.1-mile run.
- Olympic Triathlon: A 1500-meter swim, a two-lap 25-mile bike course, and a 6.2-mile run.
- Sprint Duathlon: A run and bike format for individual age group or open participants.
- Olympic Duathlon: A longer distance run and bike format for age group or open athletes.
- AquaBike: Swim and bike only options available for both Sprint and Olympic distances.
- Relay Teams: Options for 2-person or 3-person teams to compete in Sprint or Olympic triathlons.
The swim portion is conducted in the reservoir with a beach start. The bike course consists of a fast loop through county roads around the reservoir featuring flat to rolling terrain on paved surfaces.
