GCE Scholarship Fundraiser Walk, Run, Bike
The GCE Scholarship Fundraiser Walk, Run, Bike is an annual community event held in Commiskey, Indiana. Taking place on the third Saturday in April, this event serves as a fundraiser to support the Graham Creek Elementary Scholarship, which provides financial assistance to graduates. The event is based at 7910 South County Road 90 West.
Participants have the option to choose from several different athletic activities. The available distances and event formats include:
- 5k Walk/Run
- 10 Mile Bike Race
- Duathlon (combining the run and bike portions)
- 1 Mile Fun Run (exclusive to GCE students)
- Virtual Race Supporter
The 1 Mile Fun Run for students is held during the school day on a separate date prior to the main event. For those who cannot attend in person, the Virtual Race Supporter option allows individuals to support the scholarship fund from home.
Registration for the main events remains open until the morning of the race. However, there is an early registration deadline on March 20th for those who wish to receive an event shirt with their registration. This event offers tiered pricing for younger participants aged 13 and under. All proceeds from the various registration categories contribute directly to the scholarship fund for students.
