Gaylord All Outdoors Tri 45 USA Triathlon Winter National Championship
This USAT sanctioned winter multisport event takes place March 5 and 6, 2027, at Forbush Corners in Frederic, Michigan. The format follows winter triathlon rules with run, fat‑bike, and cross‑country ski legs. USA Triathlon distances for the triathlon are 5k run, 10k bike, and 5k ski. Adaptive divisions are offered for athletes with physical and visual impairments who are not classified into Championship Paratriathlon categories or who choose different equipment or guides.
Registration for individual and combined events is available with separate entry fees by event. Registration includes a pasta dinner on March 5, a custom finisher medal, an event shirt, warm post‑race snacks and hot drinks, professional timing, a transition aid station, and event photography.
Race categories and awards include overall male, female, and non‑binary placings, Clydesdale and Athena classifications, adaptive overall, and age groups in five year brackets with three deep. Clydesdale qualification is males 220 pounds and over; Athena qualification is females 165 pounds and over.
Course and equipment notes: trails are groomed for freestyle skate skiing and classic skiing together; skate ski technique is recommended. Fat tire bikes must have a minimum tire width of 3.8 inches. If snow is not skiable, a run, bike, run format may be used and course distances or layouts may be adjusted for safety. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
