Frosty Five: 5K Costume Fun Run
The Frosty Five is a family-focused costume run and walk held on December 20 at Pearsall Park in San Antonio, Texas (4838 Old Pearsall Rd). The event marks the 10th annual edition and invites participants to wear holiday-themed costumes. Fur babies are permitted.
Multiple participation options are offered:
- 5K fun run/walk
- 5K timed competitive event (listed as 3.1 miles)
- 5K virtual run
The non-timed fun run has free admission. The timed competitive event includes timing by IAAP, age group listings and awards, a frosty medal, and a long sleeve shirt; a registration fee applies. The virtual option allows participants to run anywhere; packet shipping is available for a fee.
The event encourages support for the Street2Feet non-profit through monetary donations and donations of gently used athletic apparel and shoes. Street2Feet provides training and gear to people experiencing homelessness, and prior community support included over ten bags of apparel and more than $1,000 raised for the organization.
