Frosty Five: 5K Costume Fun Run
The Frosty Five is the 10th annual 5K event held at Pearsall Park, 4838 Old Pearsall Rd, San Antonio, TX 78242. The event offers three options: a non-timed costume fun run, a timed competitive 5K, and a virtual 5K called Frosty 5k Around the World.
Admission is free for the non-timed fun run. The timed in-person event includes a frosty snow globe medal for early registrants and a long sleeve shirt for early registrants; age group listings, IAAP race timing, and awards are provided for the timed event. Awards for the timed event include gold, silver, and bronze Edragon coins for the top three in each age group; age groups begin at 19 and under and continue in decade bands up to 60 plus. The virtual option is available for participants who choose to run remotely.
The event encourages donations to Street2Feet, a nonprofit that supports homeless community running programs, and accepts lightly used athletic apparel and running shoes at the venue. There will be a water stop around the one mile mark and additional water at the finish. Strollers and pets that are safe around people are permitted when started from the back of the field to avoid obstructing faster runners. Packet pick-up for timed runners will be located under the E-Dragon Productions tent on race day.
