Fright Nite 5K : McAllen
The Fright Nite 5K is a night trail run held in the McAllen area that features themed scenes and costumed characters along the route. Runners are encouraged to wear costumes. The event is associated with the McAllen Halloween Festival, which offers free admission and family activities including kiddie rides, inflatable games, a petting zoo, live performances on the community stage, and a costume contest after the race.

The event location is Westside Multi-Purpose Fields, 1000 S. Ware Rd., McAllen, Texas 78501. The registration fee for the 5K is $35.00 and entry is by online registration only. Registration closes on Wednesday, October 8, 2026, or when the event reaches maximum capacity. Packet pick up is scheduled for Wednesday, October 8, 2026 at Town Lake at Firemen’s Park – Pumphouse, 201 N. 1st Street; packet pickup will not be available on race day and a representative may collect a packet with a copy of a valid photo ID that shows date of birth.
Participants must be at least 13 years old for the 5K. Finishers receive a participant shirt, finisher medal, and runner bib. Awards are given by gender and multiple age-group categories; runners will be recognized with award plaques. If the event is cancelled or rescheduled for reasons beyond organizer control, entry fees will not be refunded. Transfer requests are accepted up to 14 days prior to race day.
