Frida Fun Run
The Frida Fun Run is an annual community event hosted by the League of Mexican American Women at Fresno City College in Fresno, California. This fifth edition, referred to as the Cinco-ñera, serves as a fundraiser to support scholarship programs for local students in the Central Valley area. The organization behind the event, established in 1973, focuses on cultural celebration and community service.
The event features a variety of distances held on the Fresno City College campus, which is characterized by historic buildings, tree-lined walkways, and green spaces. Participants can choose from the following options:
- 5K Run/Walk (3.1 miles)
- 2K Run/Walk
- Kids Dash
- Virtual Run/Walk
The virtual participation option allows individuals to complete their distance at any location on their own schedule. Those choosing the virtual format are required to collect their event shirt and finisher's medal at a designated packet pickup location, as these items are not mailed and virtual results are not officially recorded. The in-person gathering emphasizes local education and cultural pride within the heart of Fresno. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
