Freight Train 200
Freight Train 200 is a multi-day ultrarunning event scheduled for December 3–6, 2026, running between Wolfe City and Farmersville, Texas. The event offers multiple race distances on the same course so different fields share the route.
Distances offered:
- 200 miles
- 100 miles
- 50 miles
- 25 miles
The course follows the Northeast Texas Trail (NETT) and is described as flat and runnable. The main course starts at Tom Ellis White Campground and finishes at the Farmersville Onion Shed. The organizer positions the 200 mile event as the first official 200 mile footrace in Texas.
Events are staged over several days with staggered starts or waves for the different distances and a 72 hour maximum time limit for the 200 mile field. Pacer rules are specified: pacers are allowed for 200 mile runners after Mile 50 and for 100 mile runners after Mile 25; pacers are not permitted for the 50 mile and 25 mile fields.
Timing and checkpoints use manual clipboard logs supplemented by continuous video recording at the timing arch. The organizer coordinates with local school organizations and community groups and notes local gear retailers in the area. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
