Freight Train 200
Freight Train 200 is a multi-distance trail running event held December 3–6, 2026, in Northeast Texas. The event stages multiple race distances along the Northeast Texas Trail between Wolfe City and Farmersville and is organized by SIGMAWOLF. It is presented as the state's first official 200-mile footrace.
Distances offered include:
- 200 Miles
- 100 Miles
- 50 Miles
- 25 Miles
The course follows the historic Northeast Texas Trail, with the start at Tom Ellis White Campground in Wolfe City and the finish at the Farmersville Onion Shed. The organizer describes the route as flat and runnable. Races are run in staggered waves across the multi-day event window, and the 200-mile course has a 72-hour maximum time limit.
Timing is handled with manual clipboard logs at checkpoints, backed by continuous video recording at the timing arch. Pacer rules are specified: pacers are permitted for 200-mile entrants after mile 50 and for 100-mile entrants after mile 25; pacers are not allowed in the 50-mile or 25-mile fields.
The organizer emphasizes local coordination and modest entry fees, working with community groups and nearby gear shops and businesses in the area. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
