About the race
Freight Train 200 is a multi-day ultrarunning event in Northeast Texas, held December 3–6, 2026, between Wolfe City and Farmersville. The event fields multiple distances on the same course.

The course follows the historic Northeast Texas Trail (NETT). The route is described as flat and runnable, starting at Tom Ellis White Campground in Wolfe City and finishing at the Farmersville Onion Shed. The program stages the longer and shorter races on the same path over several days.
Starts are staggered across the weekend: the 200-mile field begins on Thursday, the 100-mile and 50-mile fields start on Saturday, and 25-mile waves run on Saturday and Sunday mornings. The 200-mile event uses a 72-hour maximum time limit with a final master course cut-off on Sunday.
Timing is handled without chips, using manual checkpoint logs backed by continuous video recording at the timing arch. Pacer rules vary by distance: 200-mile runners may have a pacer after Mile 50, 100-mile runners after Mile 25, and 50- and 25-mile fields do not allow pacers.
The event is organized by SIGMAWOLF and coordinates with local community groups. Local diners, shops, and regional gear retailers in McKinney are noted as servicing the area trails. Registration closes December 1, 2026. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
