Event details
The Freedom Run takes place on Saturday, July 4, 2026. The event includes multiple in-person and virtual options and designates Central Valley Honor Flight as a beneficiary. Virtual entries receive an event shirt and medal by mail; registrations by July 7 receive mailed items the week after the event. Virtual registration remains open until July 31 while supplies last. There are no awards or official results for virtual participants. Veterans receive a $5 discount with ID. The event is part of the Central Valley Runner of the Year Series and awards 20 points.

Venue and logistics
The event is held at Woodward Park, Sunset View Shelter, near the Audubon entrance. Packet pickup is available at Fleet Feet Fresno (9447 N Fort Washington and Friant Rd) on July 3 and there is race day packet pickup at the event. The course runs through Woodward Park and the River Bottom Loop and is described as flag-lined, with trees, geese, and local wildlife. Finishers receive a medal and a race shirt.
