Jan Dils Freedom Fun Run 5K
The Jan Dils Freedom Fun Run 5K is an annual community event held in Parkersburg, West Virginia. The event serves as a fundraiser where 100% of the proceeds are donated to local veteran organizations, including We Have Your Six, Operation Transportation, and the Jan Dils Foundation Scholarship for Veteran Recipients. Participants can choose between in-person and virtual formats for both running and walking.

The in-person course begins at 963 Market Street. The route includes a smaller counter-clockwise loop via 9-1/2 Street, Avery Street, and 11th Street, followed by a larger counter-clockwise loop. This second loop takes participants past the courthouse to 2nd Street, turns onto Avery Street, and then follows 18th Street back to Market Street to return to the start/finish area.
Awards are presented to the first, second, and third-place overall male and female runners and walkers. Additionally, age group awards are provided for both genders in categories ranging from 0-9 to 80+. The virtual participation option allows individuals to support the cause from any location.
