Event Details
The Freedom Fun Run 5K is scheduled from Saturday, June 20 to Saturday, June 27, 2026. It takes place in Parkersburg, West Virginia. The event includes both in-person and virtual participation options for a 5K run and a 5K walk.
Course and Location
The in-person event starts and finishes in front of the Jan Dils office at 963 Market Street. The course begins by heading south on Market Street, completing a small counterclockwise loop using 9-1/2 Street, Avery Street, and 11th Street before returning to Market Street. It then continues with a larger counterclockwise loop along Market Street past the courthouse to 2nd Street, turning left onto Avery Street, then left onto 18th Street and Market Street, and returning to the start/finish area.
Purpose and Beneficiaries
This is an annual fundraiser. All proceeds benefit local veteran organizations, including We Have Your Six, Operation Transportation, and the Jan Dils Foundation Scholarship for Veteran Recipients.
Registration and Awards
Registration for all events opens on March 2, 2026. The entry fee is $20. Awards are given for first, second, and third place overall male and female runners and walkers. Age group awards are also offered for the following categories: 0-9, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80+.
