About the race
The Frankfurter Mainova Halbmarathon is organised by Spiridon Frankfurt e.V. The 24th edition took place on 22 March 2026 and included the German Half Marathon Championship for the first time within this event. The 2026 race set several measurable results: a new women's course record of 1:10:39 was recorded, the German championship was won with a time of 1:03:26, and the event reached a finisher record of 10,553 participants. The organisers report that the 2025 edition sold out within 12 hours after registration opened on 15 October 2025; after that only athletes registered for the German championship could still enter. Race-day conditions changed from a cool start in the shaded area in front of the stadium to pleasant sun during the run, which the report describes as good running weather.
Because the German championship was part of the programme, many strong times were achieved across overall and age-group results; the top five finishers in the national championship largely matched the top five in the overall standings, with one non-championship competitor placing among the leaders.
