5K for Fragile X
The 5K for Fragile X is the 13th annual 5K walk and race held on April 18, 2026 in Frank G. Bonelli Regional Park, San Dimas, California. The event brings together the Southern California Fragile X community and combines a community run or walk with a Family Fun Day that follows the course activity. The Family Fun Day includes family friendly activities, food, and time for families and friends to meet and share experiences.
The event supports the Fragile X Association of Southern California, whose stated aims are to promote public awareness of Fragile X syndrome, provide a forum for families and children with Fragile X to meet and share ideas and concerns, and support scientific research toward effective treatments and a cure. The organizers note that treatments for Fragile X may also benefit people affected by autism, Alzheimer’s, and other brain disorders.
Participation is offered in person and virtually, and registered participants are eligible to receive event T shirts; virtual participants who cannot collect shirts in person may have their shirts donated to the organization. Fundraising is part of the event with options for individual and team fundraisers and multiple sponsor package levels.
