The event takes place Saturday August 15, 2026 at Fox Island Park, Bowman Lake, 7324 Yohne Rd, Fort Wayne, IN 46809. It is a USAT sanctioned, professionally chip timed multisport event limited to 500 total racers and open to athletes ages 12 (by 12-31-26) and up.
Event formats and distances include:
- Sprint Triathlon: 500 yard swim; 12 mile bike; 3.1 mile run
- Sprint Duathlon: 1 mile run to start
- Sprint Aquabike: swim and bike, finish in Transition 2
- Relays: 2 person and 3 person teams for Sprint Triathlon
All participants receive a race t-shirt and all finishers receive a medal. Packet pickup and registration are handled on race day. Timing uses chips with split times for swim, bike, run, and transitions. Results will be posted live and made available after the race.
Course details: the swim is a lake swim in Bowman Lake with a planned beach start, marked buoys, and lifeguard presence in kayaks. The bike follows mostly flat county roads with light rollers on the out and back section; the bike course is open to traffic with police at key intersections. The run uses paved park trails and county roads with multiple aid stations offering water and sports drinks.
Race procedures note a transition area near the main lot with up to eight bicycles per rack, mandatory helmet rules, no personal audio devices allowed, and USAT wetsuit rules based on water temperature. Contingency plans include conversion to duathlon or other formats if conditions make the swim or ride unsafe. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
