Fort Yargo Thrill In The Hills : February 14, 2026
The event is a trail running race at Fort Yargo State Park in Winder, Georgia. It is the 19th annual Thrill In The Hills and is presented by Chateau Elan. The race offers solo and relay formats across multiple distances and starts and finishes at the Nature Center Pavilion parking area.
Courses, services and awards
- 5 Miles - road start, then single track through park trails.
- 13.1 Miles (21K) - one lap of the half marathon trail.
- 50K - two 13.1-mile laps plus a 5-mile loop; available solo or as 2- or 3-person relays.
The courses use single and double track with rolling hills, roots and some technical sections. Relay teams must have each member complete at least one leg; relay exchange is near the Nature Center Pavilion/parking area. Aid stations are placed at approximately 1.5 miles (Wil A Way road crossing), 5.05 miles (near cabins and campground host), 9.65 miles (primitive camping area) and 13.1 miles (just outside the Nature Center Pavilion). Start/finish area and main packet locations are at the Nature Center Pavilion parking lot.
Awards include overall top three male and female finishers and top three in each age group. Age groups start at 14 and under and run in five-year increments up to 75 and up. Race registration items vary by distance and may include chip timing, tri-blend shirt, finisher mug and stocked aid stations. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
