Footloose Freedom Mile

The Footloose Freedom Mile is the 21st annual one-mile road race held on July 4, 2026 in Mammoth. Race day registration is held at Mammoth Creek Park and the course finishes at Footloose Sports near the town parade route.

The event is presented as family friendly. T-shirts, medals, and flags are available while supplies last. Course records are listed at 4:44.0 for women and 4:04.9 for men. A $500 prize is offered for breaking a course record.

Organizers note surface temperatures for summer conditions. Air temperatures on the page are shown between 77 and 90 degrees, with corresponding asphalt temperatures reported between 125 and 145 degrees. Because the asphalt can get very hot, dogs are not advised on the course. In a sustainability effort participants are asked to bring a reusable water bottle.
