Flight to the Finish
The Flight to the Finish is a running event held at the Zion Park District in Zion, Illinois. The event serves as the kickoff for the Zinnia and Monarch Festival...and Bees Too! The course for the main running event is characterized as being flat and fast.
Participants can choose from the following distances:
- 5K
- 100 m dash (for children under the age of 10)
The 100 m dash is a free event where ribbons are awarded to the top three finishers in the youth category. For the 5K race, recognition is given to top finishers across various age groups, and there is specific acknowledgement for those completing their first-ever 5K.
Registered participants receive an event t-shirt themed after the Zinnia and Monarch Festival. The activities conclude with a Bubble Bash Celebration, and the organizers also distribute door prizes.
