Flight 2 Freedom Adventure Tri
Flight 2 Freedom Adventure Tri is an adventure triathlon held at Barkcamp State Park in Belmont, Ohio. The event offers two course options that share the same bike and run segments but differ in the first segment: a kayaking option or a swimming option. The race supports the Underground Railroad Museum in Flushing, Ohio.
The three segments are held on natural-surface trails and on the park lake. The bike course follows a hardpacked trail that can be muddy and includes some elevation changes; a trail or mountain bike is recommended rather than a road bike. Helmets with a strap are required for the bike segment. Water support personnel will monitor participants on the lake.
Equipment and rules are specified for safety and fairness. Kayakers must provide their own kayak, life jacket, and paddle. Swimmers should bring goggles; flotation devices, belts, and flippers are not allowed. Age groups use the USAT age category definition with age determined as of December 31 of the race year. The published registration fee for each race option is $65.
Awards are given to the top two male and top two female overall finishers in each race option. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
