Flight 2 Freedom Adventure Tri
Flight 2 Freedom Adventure Tri is an adventure triathlon held at Barkcamp State Park in Belmont, Ohio. The event offers two race formats that share the same bike and run segments but differ in the first segment.
- Kayak-Bike-Run: 1,500 m kayak, 8 miles bike, 5K trail run
- Swim-Bike-Run: 500 m swim, 8 miles bike, 5K trail run
Kayak competitors must provide their own kayak, life jacket, and paddle. Swimmers should bring goggles; flotation aids such as belts or flippers are not allowed. A water support team will monitor both kayak and swim segments on the lake.
The bike segment takes place on a hardpacked trail that can be muddy and includes some elevation changes. Participants are required to wear a helmet with a strap. Organizers advise using a trail or mountain bike rather than a road bike to handle off road conditions.
Age categories use the USAT age definition with age determined as of December 31 of the race year. Entry fee for each race is listed as $65.00. Awards are given to the top two male and top two female overall finishers in each race. The event supports the work of the Underground Railroad Museum in Flushing, Ohio.
