Flat Branch Ultra : Columbia, Missouri
Flat Branch Ultra is a USATF certified 50K rails to trails race that starts and finishes at Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Park in Columbia, Missouri. The course uses the MKT Trail for the first section before joining the Katy Trail west of McBaine, then continues as an out and back route along the Missouri River and beneath bluffs. The route passes an approximately 400 year old Bur Oak at about 8.5 miles.
Aid stations are located at the start/finish (mile 0 and mile 31), Scott Blvd (miles 3.25 and 25.5), Bur Oak (miles 8.5 and 20.5) and the Halfway Home aid station (mile 15.5, just east of Rocheport). Drop bags left at the start/finish will be taken to Halfway Home and returned after the turnaround. All competitors must check in at the Halfway Home aid station by calling out their bib number and last name and must reach Halfway Home by noon. Competitors must be off the course before dark.
Packet pickup is race day only at the start/finish line and a USATF waiver is required at pickup. Finisher awards and top three overall male and female awards are presented in person; awards will not be mailed. A photographer will post images at no charge. The field is limited to 125 entries.
