First State Half Marathon & 10K
The First State Half Marathon & 10K takes place in Newark, Delaware. The event offers participants the opportunity to run or walk a course that transitions through the town, local neighborhoods, and paved trails. The half marathon course is USATF certified (DE22001JLW). Both race distances have a total time limit of 3.5 hours.

Participants receive amenities based on their registered event, including a custom race bib and a finisher medal featuring sun-activated color-changing details. Half marathon participants receive a long-sleeve shirt and a hat, while 10K participants receive a t-shirt. After March 7th, shirts are provided in unisex sizing.
The event includes a gear check service at the Deer Park Tavern, where items must fit into a provided grocery-sized bag. Support on the course includes three water stations and five portable toilet locations situated at the start, finish, and key points along the route. The race concludes with a post-race celebration at the Deer Park Tavern featuring food, drinks, and entertainment.
Awards are presented for both distances to the overall male and female winners, overall masters winners, and the top three finishers in several age categories ranging from 19 & Under to 70 & Over. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
