FIREHOUSE 5K and 1 Mile Walk : Oconee, Illinois
The event scheduled for October 17, 2026, is organized by Friends of Oconee Fire Department and starts and finishes at the Oconee Firehouse, 104 N Oak, Oconee, IL 62553. Proceeds support the Oconee Volunteer Fire Department to help fund equipment, training, and other department needs.

Registration fees are tiered: early registration is $30 through July 31, regular registration is $35 from August 1 to October 5, and registration from October 6 through race day is $40. The event package includes a race bib, an event T-shirt guaranteed for those registered by October 5, a finisher's medal, and postrace refreshments and snacks.
Awards will be given to top finishers across age categories. There is also a special award for the best Firehouse Spirit costume.
