Firecracker Run/Walk : Galena, IL
The Firecracker Run/Walk is hosted at Eagle Ridge Resort and Spa’s North Golf Course and Pro Shop in Galena, Illinois. The event features road and golf-course running routes that wind through views of the North Course.
Event distances include:
- 5K
- 10K
- Kids Sparkler Sprint (100 yards; recommended for age 10 and under)
The race start and finish are located at the Eagle Ridge North Golf Pro Shop. Online registration is available through the event site and through Eagle Ridge Resort & Spa. Pre-registration by June 16 guarantees a race shirt and size; race day registration is available on site. Prices vary by event and registration date.
Awards for the 5K and 10K include first place overall male and female finishers and the top two male and female finishers in these age groups: 19 and under, 20-34, 35-49, 50 and up. All Kids Sparkler Sprint participants receive a finisher's ribbon.
Proceeds from this year’s event will go to Honor Flight of Dubuque, a nonprofit that transports veterans from the region to Washington, D.C. to visit and reflect at their memorials. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
