Excelsior Firecracker Run presented by Highmark Builders
The Excelsior Firecracker Run is a July 4, 2027 running event based at Excelsior Elementary School. Routes pass along the shores of Lake Minnetonka and through the historic streets of Excelsior, Shorewood, Deephaven and Greenwood.
- 10k scenic course along Lake Minnetonka and historic streets.
- 5k route along lake and town streets.
- 1 Mile family-friendly route.
Participants in the 10k and 5k receive timing services, a race bib, a 2026 race shirt while supplies last, a medal, and a popsicle. 1 Mile participants receive a race bib, a finishers medal, and a popsicle. A no-shirt registration option is available.
Packet pick-up, on-site registration, and merchandise sales take place in the Excelsior Elementary School gym the day before and the morning of the event. Post-race activities take place in the Excelsior Commons and include food and drink vendors, photo opportunities, face painting, a petting zoo, and a Kid's Parade that lines up at Kowalski's parking lot and marches down Water Street to the Commons. A fireworks display follows at dusk in the Excelsior Commons.
