Inaugural Firecracker 5K
The inaugural Firecracker 5K takes place on July 4, 2026, in Woodstock, Vermont. Organized as part of the town's 250th Celebration of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, this event serves as a fundraiser to support the ongoing maintenance of the Ottauquechee River Trail. Participation is limited to the first 250 registrants.
Course and Environment
The route follows the Ottauquechee River along a mostly flat course designed to be accessible for both walking and running. Participants travel past hay fields, a vernal pool, and a 150-year-old rail bed. The race begins at the Ottauquechee River Trail kiosk located at Maxham Meadow Way.
