Edward Jones Firecracker 5K - Platteville
The Edward Jones Firecracker 5K takes place on July 4, 2026, in Platteville, Wisconsin, with check-in and day-of registration at 405 E. Main Street. The event is held in conjunction with local Independence Day activities and supports the City of Platteville Fireworks Fund and the Friends of the Mining & Rollo Jamison Museums.
The program includes a short youth dash and a 5K road course that runs from the museum area toward Mound View Park and along the Roundtree Branch Trail, returning to the starting area. Pre-registration opens May 10, 2026; preregistration for the 5K is $25 and includes a race t-shirt. Registering by June 19 secures a shirt size and enters the registrant in a July 4 gift basket drawing. Registration remains open until July 3, 2026; race-day registration is listed at a higher fee.
Awards are presented to the top three men and top three women overall and to winners in age-group categories ranging from 14 and under through 70 and older.
