Event Details
The Finch Hatton Trail Run is event number 4 in a 5-part trail running series. It takes place at the Finch Hatton Mountain Bike (MTB) Trails in the Pioneer Valley near Mackay. The event offers three distances: 6km, 12km, and 18km.
Course Information
The course uses a mountain bike park network, which includes fire trails and dedicated MTB trails. The route is structured in 6km loops, with all runners passing the start/finish line and a spectator area after each loop to access water and facilities. The trails are marked with red, blue, and green arrows corresponding to the different distances.
The 6km (Short Course) route uses trails including G’day G’day, Salubrious, No Drama Cane Farmer, and No Rope. The 12km (Mid Course) adds a second, different loop. The 18km (Long Course) includes all three loops, featuring ascents and descents.
Rules and Requirements
Registration is mandatory to participate. A race bib with a timing chip must be worn on the front of the body. All participants must carry mandatory gear: a compression bandage, a fully charged phone, and a whistle. Participants are responsible for their own water and nutrition, with one water station available at the start/finish line.
Other Information
Toilets and showers are available at the start/finish area. The top three male and female finishers in each distance receive prize money. The event is part of a series where participants can accumulate points across five races. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
