Finch Hatton Flowing Trails - Finch Hatton MTB Trails, Finch Hatton
Finch Hatton Flowing Trails is a trail running event in Mackay's Pioneer Valley on 19 July 2026. It is event 4 of a five part off the beaten track Trail Run Series and is the only day in 2026 when trail runners use the Finch Hatton mountain bike park.
Distances
- 18 km
- 12 km
- 6 km
The course is organised as repeated loops of about 6 km. All runners pass through the start/finish line every 6 km, which allows competitors to top up water and nutrition and provides spectator access at that location. The route is marked with signage, arrows and caution tape, and marshals and a safety vehicle patrol the course.
Loop structure differs by distance. The short loop follows access trails and fire roads and finishes at the Finch Hatton trail head. The mid loop adds additional fire trails and ascents. The long loop builds on the first two and includes further ascents and downhill sections with views over the valley.
Mandatory items must be carried for the duration of the run and include a compression bandage, a fully charged phone, a whistle, the race bib, and sufficient water and nutrition. One water station is available at the start/finish line every lap. Toilets and showers are available at the start/finish area.
Entry fees start from $25 with early bird pricing ending 11 May 2026 and late fees from 12 July 2026. Prize money is awarded for the top three on each distance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
