Fifth Season Races : Cedar Rapids Fourth of July
The event is a community road race held in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, with start and finish at Greene Square Park near the Cedar Rapids Museum of Art. The main events are an 8K and a 5K that follow an out-and-back routing through nearby streets and end with a downhill finish in front of the museum and park.
The 8K route runs from Greene Square Park on 3rd Ave SE to 19th St SE and Grand Avenue SE, with a turnaround at Bever Park before returning to the finish. The 5K follows the same course but turns around on Grand Avenue. Finisher medals are provided for 8K and 5K finishers.
Kids races take place after the adult races with times to be determined. Distances offered include:
- 8K
- 5K
- 0.45 mile Big Kids Race for children 10 and under
- 1 mile Youth Race for children 12 and under
Packet pickup is scheduled the day before the race at Big Grove in Cedar Rapids; shirts are available for an extra charge, are sold as unisex sizes labeled as men's, and are not guaranteed at pickup. There is no race day registration or race day packet pickup. The races are organized by Corridor Running and are not USATF certified. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
