Fifth Season Races : Cedar Rapids, IA
The Fifth Season Races is the 41st annual Fourth of July running event held in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on July 4, 2026. The event uses Greene Square Park as the start and finish area and stages timed road races and youth races on nearby streets.
The main events are an out-and-back 8K and a 5K that follow the same corridor. The 8K begins near the Cedar Rapids Museum of Art, runs along 3rd Ave SE to 19th St SE and Grande Avenue SE, turns around in Bever Park, and returns to a downhill finish in front of the Museum of Art and Greene Square Park. The 5K follows the same course with an earlier turnaround on Grand Avenue. Finisher medals are provided for 8K and 5K finishers.
There are two youth races scheduled to start after the adult races. Distances and age categories are listed below.
- 8K out-and-back with turnaround in Bever Park
- 5K same route with turnaround on Grand Avenue
- Big Kids Race 0.45 mile for age 10 and under
- Youth Mile Race for age 12 and under
Packet pickup is scheduled for Friday, July 3, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at a location to be determined. There will be no race-day registration or race-day packet pickup. No Corridor Running races are USATF-certified. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
