Event Overview
The 6th Annual Fast & the Furriest event takes place on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at King Jack Park in Webb City, Missouri. The event is organized by the Joplin Humane Society and all proceeds support the organization. It features a superhero theme, and participants are encouraged to wear capes.
Distances
- Fast & the Furriest – Joplin Drift 5K (3.1 miles): This timed race has an entry fee of $30. Registration includes a finisher's award, an official race bib, and a special gift for the first 50 dogs. Awards are given for top overall male and female finishers, top 3 owner/dog teams, and top 3 male and female finishers in multiple age groups.
- The Fuzzy Fun Walk – 1 Mile: This group walk around the lake has an entry fee of $20. It includes a special gift for the first 50 dogs. Baby joggers and strollers are permitted.
- Virtual 5K: This remote option has an entry fee of $35 and includes a finisher gift that is mailed after the event.
Event Details
Well-socialized dogs on standard leashes are welcome at the in-person events, but retractable leashes are not allowed. The event includes professional race timing. A commemorative t-shirt can be ordered for an additional fee by a specified deadline.
