Fast & Furriest 5K - Tempe
Fast & Furriest 5K is a dog friendly race and pet festival held in Tempe on October 10, 2026 at 101 West Baseline Road. The event combines a professionally chip timed 5K, a family friendly 1 mile fun run, a dog dash championship, and a pet festival with vendors and adoption partners.
The Dog Dash Championship uses a 40 ft fenced track with breed specific heats and trophies awarded for each breed and the open fastest dog category. Listed breed categories include Frenchies, Dachshunds, Corgis, Poodles, and an Open category.
The pet festival features a vendors expo, dog adoptions with rescue organizations, raffles, games, a photo booth, and live award ceremonies. Children under age 10 enter free. The event is leashed pet friendly; roller blades, skateboards, and motorized devices are not permitted on the run or walk courses. Wheelchairs, strollers, and wagons are welcome.
All participants receive a custom event finisher medal and custom dri fit tech t shirt. Awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers in both 5K with dog and 5K without dog categories. Timing is provided by StartLine Racing with real time results and photos. Packet pick up is available Friday, October 9 at Wiggles and Wags Pet Resort and also at the race location on event day. The event takes place rain or shine and refunds are not issued for weather.
