Fast and Furriest 5K, Tempe
The Fast and Furriest 5K is a community running event and pet festival held at 101 West Baseline Road in Tempe, AZ. The event combines a professionally timed 5K, a family-friendly 1 mile fun run, a dog dash championship, and a vendor expo with adoption partners and games.
Participants receive a custom finisher's medal and a custom dri-fit tech t-shirt. Chip timing is provided with real time results and event photos. Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in both the 5K with dog and the 5K without dog categories. The Dog Dash championship uses a 40 ft fenced track, runs breed-specific heats, and awards trophies for each category including an open fastest dog title.
Additional features include a vendor expo, dog adoptions with rescue organizations, raffles, a photo booth, and a runner's brunch with water, sports drink options, fruit, and granola bars. Packet pick-up is available the day before at Wiggles and Wags Pet Resort and on race day at Kiwanis Park. The course maps for the 5K and the 1 mile are provided and the course may be changed if deemed unsafe. The event is pet friendly with leashes required; wheelchairs, strollers, and wagons are welcome.
