Farm Strong Obstacle Course Race - Waid Park
The Farm Strong Obstacle Course Race is a farm work inspired challenge course at Waid Park held on August 1, 2026. The course was co-designed by the Spartan SGX Coach Team at Ferguson Fitness and Franklin County Parks and Recreation and will proceed rain or shine.
The event features more than 20 obstacles that draw on Franklin County agricultural themes. Several new obstacles for 2026 include large machinery and a hay pyramid. Returning course elements listed for recent events include Farmers ford, hay bale hurdles, 5 gallon bucket fill, tire flip, sandbag haul, low crawl with balance block, farmers carry, and tractor climb.
Runners start in corral groups of 20 released at two-minute intervals, and the event is chip timed. Previous finish times ranged roughly from 28 to 90 minutes. Awards are issued three deep for male and female age and weight specific categories. A Clydesdale category is offered in place of an age group for competitors who prefer a general weight class: Women 150+ lbs and Men 220+ lbs.
The registration fee is $35 and includes chip timing, a Farm Strong logo t-shirt, and live bluegrass music by Mason Creek. Registrations after July 13 are not guaranteed a shirt. Pre-registration closes Thursday, July 30 at 11:59 pm; onsite registration incurs a $10 increase and requires credit or exact cash.
