Event details
The event on December 20 at Ben Brenman Park in Alexandria features two distances:
- 5k
- 10k
Points from these races count toward the Year-Long 5k, 10k and Back of the Pack series, and also toward the Fall Series. A virtual race option is available for participants who cannot attend in person. The course runs through park and pond areas and extends onto the Holmes Run trail.
Race logistics
The route is described as fairly flat and paved. The 10k is an out-and-back run completed twice. Water and restrooms are available on site. Water stations are planned at approximately mile markers 1.55, 3.1 and 4.65 on the 10k, and at about mile 1.55 on the 5k; Gatorade is available at some stations. The event is chip timed; finishers receive a medal and a technical (Drifit) event shirt.
Registration fees: 5k is $30 until Nov 30 (then $35); 10k is $45 until Nov 30 (then $50). Prices increase on race morning by $5 for each distance. T-shirt sizes are guaranteed for runners registered before Dec 10. Packet pickup is available at the event and race day registration is offered. Live results will appear online on race day and final results with series points will be posted the Monday after the event.
