Fall Freedom 5K Hillsdale
The Fall Freedom 5K Run/Walk takes place in Hillsdale, Michigan, at the Baw Beese Lake area. The event follows a paved course that is well marked and chip timed for accuracy. Participants begin the race at Sandy Beach, located at 300 Waterworks Drive, and travel through the Baw Beese Lake trail.
The race offers various recognition categories for participants:
- 5 km run and walk
Trophies are awarded to the overall male and female winners. Additionally, medals are presented to the top two male and female finishers across a wide range of age groups, starting from 0-11 and continuing in five-year increments up to 85-89 and above. This event serves as the final race of the Tri-County Race series, which includes competitions held in Hillsdale, Lenawee, and Branch Counties.
The US 12 Heritage Trail Daughters of the American Revolution sponsors this event. All proceeds are directed to Wreaths Across America, an organization that places wreaths at the final resting places of local veterans during the Christmas season.
