Fall Colours Run : description
The Fall Colours Run is a two-day event held in the historic community of Cumberland Village with start and finish activity at the Cumberland Heritage Museum. The course runs through areas noted for autumn foliage and finishes at the museum, which depicts rural life in the 1920s and 1930s.
Race distances and options include:
- 1 km Turkey Trot (12 and under)
- 1 km Wedding Dress Dash
- 3 km
- 5 km
- 10 km
- 21.1 km Half Marathon
- 42.2 km Marathon
- Combined challenge options 5K + 10K and 10K + 21.1K
The Turkey Trot is a 1 km event for children 12 and under; strollers are welcome and all finishers receive a medal. The Wedding Dress Dash is a 1 km fun run open to all ages and genders; participants may bring, borrow, or wear a wedding dress for the dash.
Included with registration are a personalized race bib, a closed course with local traffic only, professional timing, a certified course that can serve as a qualifier for the New York and Boston marathons, on-course nutrition from XACT, race photography, podium prizes for top three male, female and non-binary finishers, and post-race snacks including hot chocolate. Shuttle buses will run between the Museum and the OC Transpo Park N Ride / Trim Road. Volunteers are provided by St. Peter High School. The marathon has a seven hour completion limit for the 42.2 km distance. Shirt orders require registration by September 2 and medal orders by September 7; online registration is available until October 6 at 18:00 subject to availability.
