The Event
The Fall Colours Run is a two-day event in October held in the historic Cumberland Village near Ottawa. On Saturday, the available races are the 1K Turkey Trot for children 12 and under, the 1K Wedding Dress Dash open to all ages and abilities, and a 3K run. Sunday features a 5K, 10K, Half Marathon, and Marathon. There are also two challenge events combining races: the 5K & 10K Challenge and the 10K & 21.1K Challenge.
The Course and Venue
The event is hosted at the Cumberland Heritage Museum, which serves as the start and finish line. The marathon course is certified and a Boston Marathon qualifier. The venue is described as offering scenic fall colours. Shuttle bus service is available between the museum and OC Transpo Park N Ride and Trim Road parking areas.
What's Included
Registration includes a personalized race bib, professional timing, on-course nutrition, podium prizes for the top three in each category, post-race snacks, and a closed course for runners. A finisher's medal is included for the Turkey Trot. On Saturday, a live musical performance and a glitter temporary-tattoo station are offered. On Sunday, post-race massages are available.
