The course is known for its seasonal scenery and is centered at the Cumberland Heritage Museum, which depicts rural life from the 1920s and 1930s. The marathon and half-marathon distances are certified courses and serve as qualifiers for the Boston and New York Marathons.
Participants can choose from a wide range of distances and challenges:
- 1 km Turkey Trot (for children ages 12 and under)
- 1 km Wedding Dress Dash
- 3 km run
- 5 km run
- 10 km run
- 21.1 km (Half-Marathon)
- 42.2 km (Marathon)
- Challenge races: 5 km + 10 km or 10 km + 21.1 km
The event schedule features shorter races and bib pickup on Saturday, followed by the longer distances on Sunday. The course is closed to most traffic, allowing for local access only. The marathon has a cut-off time of 7 hours, requiring all athletes to finish by 3 pm. Shuttle buses are provided between the museum and local transit park-and-ride locations.
Registration includes professional timing, on-course nutrition, and post-race snacks. On-site perks vary by day and include live music, post-race massages on Sunday, and a dedicated spectator guide for visitors. Finisher medals and event shirts are available as optional add-ons for those who register before the specified deadlines in September. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
