About the race
The Fair on the Square Half Marathon & 5K takes place on the Courthouse Square in Danville, Indiana, during the Fair on the Square Fall Festival. The event is presented by Hendricks Regional Health and finishes at the festival area with vendors offering crafts, food and apparel. The Courthouse Square was used for filming a Fall Festival scene for the movie Mayberry in 2019.

Race features include a country-scenic half marathon course in the Indianapolis metro area, water stations every 2 miles, chip timing for the Half Marathon and 5K, and music at the start and finish areas. All finishers receive event medals; the Half Marathon and 5K have different medals. Age group and overall awards are given, with custom trophies and pint glasses noted for both distances.
Additional event details list new Fair on the Square ultra soft tech shirts, free finisher photos, complimentary beer for 21 and over, free frozen treats and other concessions, free parking, and portalets located at every odd mile. Packet pickup is available the day before at 355 S Washington St and on race day at the start/finish area near 145 S Indiana St. Packet pickup for others is allowed.
