Extreme North Dakota's Terrifying Run Amongst Innumerable Lost Souls (END-TRAILS)
END-TRAILS is an annual Halloween themed timed trail run held October 24-25, 2026 at Turtle River State Park near Arvilla, North Dakota. Runners compete solo or in teams to complete as many laps of a marked loop as possible within set time limits. The course includes windy single track, some fast flat double track, frequent undulations, and about 100 yards of pavement.
Three race formats are offered:
- Zombie solo 6, 12, or 24 hour options
- Skeleton Army team events for up to four runners in 12 or 24 hour formats
- Imp single lap trail run approximately 10 km
The event is limited to 100 total runners. Participants must have a day pass priced at $7 or an annual North Dakota State Park pass on their vehicle to enter the park. Entry includes course access, event swag, and official results. Scoring ranks racers and teams by laps completed and then by the time the final lap was finished. The event notes 50 miles as a common benchmark for performance on the course.
