Extreme North Dakota's Terrifying Run Amongst Innumerable Lost Souls (END-TRAILS)
END-TRAILS is an annual Halloween themed timed trail run held October 24–25, 2026 at Turtle River State Park near Arvilla, North Dakota. Runners may compete solo or as part of a relay team to complete as many laps of the marked loop as possible within timed windows.
The course mixes winding single track, some fast flat double track, frequent undulations, and about 100 yards of pavement through park terrain. The organizer describes the setting as a scenic state park.
Race options include multiple timed formats and a one-lap trail option:
- Zombie solo 6, 12, or 24 hour efforts.
- Skeleton Army team entries for 12 or 24 hours, up to four people.
- Imp one-lap trail race approximately 10K.
The field is capped at 100 total runners. Entry includes race course access, swag, and official results. Scoring ranks racers and teams first by the number of laps completed and then by the elapsed time of the final lap. Organizers note that, depending on conditions, 50 miles is a common benchmark for the event.
END-TRAILS is part of the UMTR Timed Series and also contributes to Undead Hall of Fame qualification when combined with specified mileage in another event the same weekend. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
