About the race
Explore Shoalhaven Adventure Race is a team-based, two-person adventure race held in Shoalhaven, NSW, Australia on 7 November 2026. Teams have up to six hours to follow an unmarked linear course of either 15 km or 30 km and collect a series of checkpoints in the correct order to record a valid finish. The course mixes trail running/trekking, mountain biking and kayaking across multiple legs. Approximate leg distances are: - Full Course roughly 5–7 km run, 10–15 km mountain bike, 5 km kayak - Half Course roughly 3–5 km run, 5–7 km mountain bike, 3–5 km kayak Entry fees are listed per two-person team: Full Course $265 (including GST) and Half Course $235 (including GST).
Entries include kayak, personal flotation device and paddle hire, waterproof maps, a race pack and a souvenir event cap or similar. Event organisers provide on-site first response teams and public liability insurance to the value of 20 million dollars. Categories include Mixed, Male, Female, Junior (one member under 18), Open, Veteran (all members 40+), and Super Veteran (all members 55+). Under 18s may compete only when accompanied by an adult.
Each competitor must hold Australian ambulance cover or equivalent medical insurance that includes ambulance transport. The event requires mandatory safety equipment and enforces gear checks and penalties for non-compliance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
