Exira Fun Run/5K/10K - Exira, IA
The event in Exira, Iowa at Exira City Park includes three distance options and community activities. Distances offered:
- Fun Run (1.41 miles)
- 5K
- 10K
The Fun Run starts and ends on the south side of City Park and follows a 1.41 mile route through the city. The 5K is a loop course on paved streets with varying elevations. The 10K heads north out of town on gravel roads with varied elevations, returns west and south on the T-bone bike trail, and finishes back at Exira City Park.
Packet pick-up is scheduled the evening before the event from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the old Fire Station on the north side of Exira City Park. A Gildan 50/50 Dri-Blend T-shirt is used for the event shirts; shirts are available through registration and as a separate purchase.
Awards are given by division for male and female competitors in all three races. Trophies go to overall male and female winners for each race. Medals are awarded to the first three places in each division. Participation ribbons are provided to non-medal winners in the first two Fun Run divisions. Masters awards follow USATF age rules for 40 and over.
No race day registration is available. Proceeds support Exira Rec Center renovation and other community projects. Donations to local causes are also accepted. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
