Exira Fun Run/5K/10K : Exira City Park, Exira, IA on July 3, 2026
This community road event offers three race categories held at Exira City Park: a 10K, a 5K, and a Fun Run. The 5K is a loop on paved streets with varying elevations. The 10K heads north out of town on gravel roads with varied elevations, returns via the T-bone bike trail and finishes back at Exira City Park. The Fun Run starts and ends on the south side of the park and follows a 1.41 mile route through the city.
Registration fees through June 30 are listed per race; late registration runs through July 2 with higher fees. A shirt may be added during registration for $14; shirts can also be purchased separately for $17. A donation category is offered for American Legion playground equipment and proceeds from the event support Exira Rec Center renovation and other community projects.
Packet pick-up will take place at the old Fire Station on the north side of Exira City Park. Additional event notes include a pancake breakfast on race morning with proceeds to the Exira Museum, a canned food drive for Caring and Sharing of Audubon County, and sale of previous road run apparel the morning of the event.
Awards include trophies for overall male and female winners and medals for the top three in each division. USATF masters rules (age 40+) will be honored. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
