Evenstar Ultras - Bentonville, VA
Evenstar Ultras is a timed trail event held on Allen's Mountain in Shenandoah River State Park. The course is a 3.48-mile loop with about 670 feet of elevation gain per loop. The route is primarily single-track and includes technical sections with rocks, roots, and potential creek crossings. Runners return frequently to a main aid station, reducing the need to carry extensive gear or navigation tools.
The event offers multiple timed formats and full course support. Each entrant receives race entry, access to the supported course and main aid station, and an event hoodie. The aid station provides water, electrolyte drinks, sodas, coffee, classic ultra snacks, and cooked warm food during the race. A finisher award is given to anyone who completes at least one loop. Awards are presented to the top three women and men in each time category, and a special award is given to participants who complete 100 miles.
Participants in the 12- and 24-hour formats are required to wear a headlamp or waist light once it is dark; organizers require spare batteries or backup lights and will not allow runners on course without a light after dark. The event is Trail Sisters Approved and includes a pregnancy and postpartum deferment or refund policy at the race director's discretion. Volunteers receive race-day swag and discounted future entries. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
