Event Overview
The Eva Strong Memorial 5k/10k Run & 1 Mile Run/Walk is a scholarship fund event that takes place in Uvalde, Texas. It is described as a Run for Remembrance.
Distances & Fees
The event offers several in-person and virtual participation options.
- 5k Run: Fee is $30.
- 10k Run: Fee is $40.
- 1 Mile Youth Run: For participants 12 and under only. Fee is $20.
- 1 Mile Walk: Fee is $20.
- Virtual Options: A virtual 5k costs $35, a virtual 10k costs $45, and virtual options for the 1 Mile Youth Run and 1 Mile Walk cost $25 each. Packets for virtual participants are mailed out.
Location & Schedule
The event is held in Downtown Uvalde on the 100 Block of E. Nopal Street. Packet pickup is scheduled for the day before the event at the Willie De Leon Civic Center on 300 E. Main Street.
Registration & Details
All participants must pre-register online; no race day registration is offered. To guarantee receiving an event shirt in the requested size, registration must be completed by a specific date in early March.
Awards
Awards are given for the 5k and 10k runs. Medals are awarded to the top three male and female finishers in each age category. Trophies are awarded to the overall male and female winners for each distance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
