About the race

The Estuary Half Marathon is a road running event held in Labasheeda, County Clare. The race starts and finishes in the village, with Labasheeda Community Centre as the event hub. The course follows local roads along the Shannon Estuary and is described as scenic, with rolling roads and wide estuary views.

The route takes runners out of Labasheeda along the shoreline towards nearby villages and then back to the Main Street finish. Volunteers support participants at water stations, on bikes, and in vehicles along the course. Well organised water stations are placed on the route to help runners stay hydrated.

The event includes monetary prizes for the top three men and top three women. There are also Clare Athletics category medals for runners aged 40+, 50+, 60+, and 65+. The race is described as friendly, with strong involvement from local volunteers and the wider Clare coastal community.

The Estuary Half Marathon is held in person and is open to all ages. It is organised by Labasheeda Community Centre and takes place on local public roads around the Shannon Estuary. The organisers highlight a safe, well managed race environment with a focus on community support and picturesque estuary scenery. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
