Estes Park Marathon & Half Marathon 2026
The event takes place June 20-21, 2026, with a race weekend centered at Estes Park High School, 1600 Manford Ave, Estes Park, CO. Events include:
- Marathon (26.2 miles)
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
- Longs Peak 5 Mile
- Kids Fun Run (50 m to 800 m by age)
- Virtual Marathon and Virtual Half Marathon
- Shining Twin Challenge (Longs Peak 5 Mile + Half)
- Sunrise Achievers entries with a designated group start and pacer
Course and logistics
Marathon and Half Marathon start at the Dao House on CO-Hwy 7 and descend about 1500 ft within the first 6.5 miles on a mix of dirt trail and smooth road/pathways. The Half continues to Lake Estes Trail with views of the Continental Divide. The Marathon follows Lake Estes Trail and the Dry Gulch/Devil's Gulch loop, passing the Stanley Hotel. All in-person races finish on the Estes Park High School track.
Shuttle buses transport runners from the high school to the Dao House start; there is no shuttle back to the start area. A rolling start format is used. Aid stations are provided about every 2 miles, with gels, Gatorade, water, and porta-potties at aid stations and the start. There is no gear drop at the start; found items may be moved to the finish and the organizer is not responsible for lost items. Packet pickup is available during the race weekend.
