Two Days of Mountain Endurance
The Estes Epic is a multi-discipline endurance event held in Estes Park, Colorado. Situated at an elevation of 7,500 feet, the courses border Rocky Mountain National Park and feature mountain terrain. The event is organized as a fundraiser for the Estes Park High School Mountain Bike Team, supporting local student athletes in the Colorado High School Cycling League.
The schedule is divided into two days of activity:
- MTB 50K: A 31-mile mountain bike race on technical singletrack at altitude.
- Trail 50K: A full ultramarathon run on mountain trails.
- Heavy Half: A trail running race covering a half marathon distance.
- Epic Double: A combined event consisting of both the 50 km mountain bike race and the 50 km trail run.
The courses are cupless, requiring participants to bring their own hydration containers. Participants receive a t-shirt and a trucker hat. Those who complete the Epic Double, totaling 100 km over two days, receive a customized finishers hoodie. Aid stations are located along the courses to support participants.
