Escape to Belle Isle - July 17, 2027
Escape to Belle Isle is the 19th annual race series held on Belle Isle, Detroit, on July 17, 2027. The event supports Ronald McDonald House Charities Detroit and raises funds for housing and services for families with hospitalized children.
The event program includes multiple distances:
- 10K
- 5K
- 2 Mile
- Kids Fun Run
Race perks include T-shirts for all registrants, medals for all 5K and 10K finishers, and trophies or medals for Kids Fun Run finishers. Awards are presented to the top male and female in the 5K and 10K. An extra race shirt is available for purchase for $15. A group/team discount of $5 per person is offered. Fees listed for the current series are: 5K/10K $60, 2 Mile $45, Kids Fun Run $28. Early bird registration opens January 1 and ends April 30, 2027 at 11:59pm EDT.
Logistics note parking is in the large lot adjacent to the Start/Finish at the Belle Isle Casino; directions on the island include veering right at the roundabout and turning onto Sunset Way. Packet pick up for shirts and numbers is held at the Belle Isle Casino on race day. Walkers, strollers, and dogs are welcome. A 1.5 hour time limit applies to the 5K and 10K events.
