Event overview

Escape to Belle Isle is a community race on Saturday, July 18, 2026, held at Belle Isle (1 Casino Way, Detroit, MI). The event includes the following distances:

Kid's Fun Run (about 400 yards, open to ages 2-12)

Shirts are provided to all registered participants. Medals are given to finishers in the 5K and 10K. The Kid's Fun Run offers t-shirts and trophies or medals to all finishers. Awards are presented to the top male and female in the 5K and 10K. A 1.5 hour time limit applies to the 5K and 10K events. Registration opened December 11, 2025.

Logistics and charity

Packet pick-up and number/shirt distribution take place on race day at the Belle Isle Casino near the race start/finish. Parking is available in the large lot adjacent to the casino; the site notes access via Sunset Way. Walkers, strollers, and dogs are allowed.

All proceeds support Ronald McDonald House Charities Detroit. Donations and race proceeds are used to fund housing and family services that keep parents close to children receiving medical care.
