Escape to Belle Isle
Escape to Belle Isle is a community road race on Belle Isle in Detroit that raises funds for Ronald McDonald House Charities Detroit. The event offers multiple distance options and a separate youth run. The course start and finish are located at the Belle Isle Casino and parking is available in the large lot adjacent to that area.
The event includes the following distances:
- Kid's Fun Run - about 400 yards
- 2 Mile
- 5K
- 10K
Race services and participant items are provided at the Belle Isle Casino on race day, including packet pick up, race numbers, and T shirts for registrants. Medals are awarded to finishers in the 5K and 10K and the Kid's Fun Run awards trophies or medals to its finishers. Age group awards are presented to top male and female finishers in the 5K and 10K. Walkers, strollers, and dogs are welcome. A 1.5 hour time limit applies to the 5K and 10K events.
Proceeds and donations support Ronald McDonald House services in the Detroit area, including housing and family support for children receiving medical care. Volunteers are requested to assist with event operations and are provided event apparel in return. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
