Escape to Belle Isle
The Escape to Belle Isle is the 18th annual race held on Belle Isle in Detroit at 1 Casino Way. The event benefits Ronald McDonald House Detroit and supports its programs that provide places for families to stay close to their children and medical teams. Funds help provide warm meals, transportation to and from hospitals, overnight stays, and other services that relieve financial and geographical burdens for families of children receiving care in Metro Detroit.
Race formats offered include the following distances and event types:
- 0.25 Miles Kid's Fun Run (about 400 yards)
- 2 Miles 2 Mile race
- 3.1 Miles 5K
- 6.2 Miles 10K
- 5K Team Agape 5K
- 10K Team Agape 10K
Registration fees listed for events range from $25.00 to $60.00. Several races had registration periods beginning 12/11/2025 and closing 4/28/2026; Team Agape events had registration beginning 7/8/2026 and closing 7/18/2026. Packet pickup is available on race day and parking is free and close by.
The event is stroller friendly and allows dogs. All registered runners and walkers receive a shirt and a medal, and Kid's Fun Run participants receive their own medals. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
