Event
The Emma Creek Classic 5K/1M takes place on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Hesston Middle School. It is the 35th annual Hesston Recreation and Community Education Emma Creek run/walk and serves as a fundraiser to support youth programs affected by budgetary constraints. The event offers a non-competitive one-mile fun run/walk option and a 5K race. The first 500 registrants receive a swag bag and a 2026 Emma Creek t-shirt. Awards are given to the top 10 overall finishers and the top 3 in each age group; age groups range from 8 and younger up to 85 and older.

Packet pickup is available the day before at Hesston Aquatic Center and on the day of the race. Parking is at the stadium. The event uses timing chips and posts results at timerguys.com. The 5K course is certified as fast and flat for women and girls. Kansas middle school, junior high and high school track and field athletes are ineligible to compete under KSHSAA rules. Strollers are allowed but should line up toward the back of the starting area. Pets, cell phone use during the race, scooters, skates and skateboards are not permitted. Medical aid will be available.
