Elephant Rock Trail Run : August 8, 2026
The Elephant Rock Trail Run is a set of trail races held in Mueller Park above Bountiful, Utah. The event in 2026 is the ninth running and offers multiple trail distances around the Wasatch Mountains.
- 50K
- 26.8 Miler
- 13.8 Miler
- 7 Miler
The 50K is a point to point course that connects Holbrook Canyon Trail, The Great Western, Sessions Pass, Mill Creek, Kenney Creek, and Mueller Park. Trail surfaces are primarily dirt single track and dirt roads, reported as about 80 percent dirt trail, 19 percent dirt road, and 1 percent paved ground at start and finish. Organizers note roughly 8,600 feet of total climb on the 50K with about 6,084 feet occurring in the first 15.5 miles; the Mueller Park half course has about 2,516 feet of elevation change. The first section of the 50K has only two limited aid stations and runners are advised to carry at least two liters of water for that section.
An alternate 50K course may be used if trail conditions require removing the Mill Creek to Kenney Creek segment, creating an out and back of 15.5 miles and a 16.3 mile loop to finish. Cutoff limits are enforced: the 50K has a 13 hour cutoff imposed by the park and the other distances have an eight hour cutoff. The event is sanctioned by USA Track and Field. Volunteers who work a full shift receive a free entry for the following year. All finishers receive a handcrafted medal; top male and female finishers in each distance receive a special award. Awards may be mailed if not available at the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
