Elephant Rock Trail Run
The 2026 Elephant Rock Trail Run is the ninth running of the event in Mueller Park, Bountiful, Utah, held on August 8, 2026. The event offers multiple trail distances that use single track and fire roads through sections of the Wasatch Mountains and connected trails.
Available distances:
- 50K
- 26.8 miles
- 13.8 miles
- 7 miles
The 50K is a point to point course that connects Holbrook Canyon Trail, The Great Western, Sessions Pass, Mill Creek, Kenney Creek, and Mueller Park, then follows local loop trails to the finish. An alternate 50K course may be used depending on trail and weather conditions; the alternate removes the Mill Creek to Kenney Creek connector and adds an out-and-back section and the Mueller Park loop. The first section of the 50K can include snow patches and limited access; vegetation and fallen trees can make some unmaintained sections difficult to follow. Organizers advise that runners attempting the 50K already have experience completing a full trail marathon.
Course surfaces are primarily dirt trail and dirt road with a small paved portion at the start and finish. The 50K includes substantial elevation gain and limited aid stations in the early section; runners should plan accordingly and carry sufficient water. The event is sanctioned by USA Track & Field. All finishers receive a handcrafted medal; top male and top female finishers of each distance receive special awards. Volunteers who complete full shifts receive race credit for a subsequent year.
