Effingham County Fair 5K
The event is a community running program held at the Effingham County Fairgrounds in Altamont, IL, with start and finish on the horse track in front of the grandstands. The 5K course leaves the track, loops through the fairgrounds and surrounding park areas, uses the new ACHS/AGS track for two loops, and returns to the fairgrounds track to complete the 3.1 mile distance. Music is provided at the start and finish area. Professional chip timing by Kinetic Timing will be used.
Distances:
- 3.1 Miles
- 1 Mile
There is one water station located just after the first mile (about 1.15 miles) positioned as runners begin a country grass loop. Awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers for the 5K. Registration details include set registration windows for each event and published entry fees; registering before July 21 guarantees a race shirt, and shirts will not be available on race morning. Race morning registration and packet pickup are available; organizers note that race morning payments may require exact change or a check made out to Kinetic Timing. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
