ECT 50 Ultra Marathon
The event is a 50 km coastal trail race in Pouch Cove, Newfoundland and Labrador. The route includes technically challenging coastal terrain. Proceeds from the race are donated to the East Coast Trail Association.
Race check in is held in Quidi Vidi, with buses providing drop off at the starting line. There are three aid stations positioned approximately at Flatrock (16.5 km), Middle Cove Beach (31 km) and Logy Bay Marine Lab (43 km). Aid stations will have water and electrolytes; additional food items depend on volunteer contributions. This is a cupless race, so participants should carry their own fuel, water and containers.
Runners are required to carry a whistle and a cellphone and must present them at check in. Drop bags can be handed in at check in for collection at Middle Cove Beach and must be clearly labeled. Items may be discarded at any aid station for recovery at the finish. A starting line drop off will collect layers or items in Pouch Cove to be recovered at the finish.
Support crews are permitted but only at the designated aid stations. Registration and bib numbers are non transferable. If the event is cancelled, refunds less service fees or rollover registration will be offered. Organizers maintain a Strava club and social media channels.
