ECT 50 Ultra Marathon
The ECT 50 Ultra Marathon on October 24, 2026 is a 50 km coastal trail race in Pouch Cove, Newfoundland and Labrador. The route follows the East Coast Trail and includes technically challenging coastal sections.
Race check-in takes place in Quidi Vidi, and buses will transport runners to the starting line. Proceeds from the race are donated to the East Coast Trail Association. Registration and bib numbers are non-transferable. If the event is cancelled, refunds minus service fees or a rollover registration will be offered.
There are control points at approximate distances: Flatrock at 16.5 km, Middle Cove at 31 km, and the Logy Bay Marine Lab at 43 km, with a final cutoff at Quidi Vidi. Three aid stations (Flatrock, Middle Cove Beach, and the Marine Lab) will provide water and electrolytes; additional food depends on volunteer contributions. This is a cupless race, so participants should carry fuel, water, and suitable containers.
Race day requirements and services: runners must carry a whistle and a cellphone and present them at check-in. A drop bag service is available from Quidi Vidi to Middle Cove Beach; drop bags must be clearly labeled. A starting line drop off and collection at the finish will be provided. Support crews are welcome at aid stations only. Participants who collect trail trash may receive a free bottle of Tonic at the finish provided by Third Place Cocktail Company.
