ECT 50 Ultra Marathon

The ECT 50 is a 50 km ultramarathon run along the coastal trails near Pouch Cove, Newfoundland and Labrador. Proceeds from the event benefit the East Coast Trail Association.

Race check-in is held in Quidi Vidi, with buses providing transport to the starting line in Pouch Cove. The course passes three aid stations: Flatrock (approx. 16.5 km), Middle Cove Beach (approx. 31 km), and Logy Bay Marine Lab (approx. 43 km). There is a finish line cut-off time coinciding with sunset in Quidi Vidi.

  • Runners must carry a whistle and cell phone.
  • It is a cupless race; participants must carry their own water containers.
  • Drop bags for the Middle Cove Beach aid station can be handed in at check-in.
  • A starting line drop-off service is available for items to be transported to the finish.
  • Support crews are permitted only at the official aid stations.
  • Participants are encouraged to collect trail trash; a reward is offered for doing so.
