ECT 50 Ultra Marathon
The event is a 50 km coastal ultramarathon near Pouch Cove, NL, with proceeds donated to the East Coast Trail Association. The route follows coastal trail sections and includes several aid stations and logistical services for participants.
Race check in is held in Quidi Vidi and buses provide drop off at the starting line. Runners may hand in a drop bag at check in for collection at the Middle Cove Beach aid station. Items may also be left at any aid station for recovery at the finish and all drop bags must be clearly labeled. A starting line drop off for items is collected in Pouch Cove and returned to the finish area.
There are three main aid stations located at approximately Flatrock (16.5 km), Middle Cove Beach (31 km), and the Logy Bay Marine Lab (43 km). Aid stations provide water and electrolytes; additional food items depend on volunteer contributions. This is a cupless race, so runners should carry necessary fuel, water, and water containers. A whistle and a cellphone are required and will be checked at race check in. Support crews are allowed but must meet runners at aid stations only.
Registration closes Wednesday, Jul 1 at 11:59 PM NT. Registration and bib numbers are non transferable. If the event is cancelled, refunds less service fees or rollover registration will be offered. Participants who collect trail trash may receive a complimentary bottle of tonic provided by Third Place Cocktail Company. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
