ECT 50 Ultra Marathon in Pouch Cove
This event is a 50 km race held on October 24, 2026, in Pouch Cove, Newfoundland and Labrador. The route follows coastal trail and is described as technically challenging. Proceeds from the race will be donated to the East Coast Trail Association.
Race check-in is located in Quidi Vidi, and buses will provide drop off at the starting line. Participants may hand in a drop bag at check-in to be collected at the Middle Cove Beach aid station. A starting-line drop-off for items intended for the finish will be collected in Pouch Cove and recovered at the finish area. Drop bags must be clearly labeled.
There are three aid stations: Flatrock, Middle Cove Beach, and Logy Bay Marine Lab; these will provide water and electrolytes. Any additional food at aid stations depends on volunteer contributions. The event is cupless, so runners should carry their own water containers and fuel. Support crews are permitted and encouraged but may only meet participants at the designated aid stations.
For safety, a whistle and a cellphone are required and must be presented at race check-in. Participants who collect trail trash during the race are eligible to receive a complimentary bottle of tonic from a sponsor. Registration closes Wednesday, July 1 at 11:59 PM NT.
